How Birthday Odds handles your birthday selections, shared results, and website requests.
Your birthday inputs
The checker needs a month and day. It does not ask for your name, birth year, email, or location. Looking up a date and comparing it with a friend happen in your browser using the data included with the page.
Checker calculations use your selected dates in your browser. Shared links can retain dates in the address bar and browser history. Analytics can collect URL and interaction information as described below.
The half birthday and golden birthday calculators also ask for a year for calendar calculations. Calculations run in your browser. These calculators do not create shared links.
Prints and payments
Print requests send the chosen month and day to our server. Personalized previews also send the optional name and message.
The server creates the PDF. When you start checkout, it stores encrypted print details with Stripe. This supports downloads after payment.
When ordering is available, Stripe collects payment information. Birthday Odds does not receive your full card number. Stripe applies its own privacy policy.
The private receipt link permits access to the paid print. Keep it private. Browser history can retain this link.
Gift analytics exclude birthday values, names, messages, and order references. Session recording stops on the print editor and receipt pages.
For download help or a refund request, email contact@birthdayodds.com. Include your order reference if available. Do not send card details.
When you share a result
Sharing includes the selected month and day, its result and source period, and a link that can reopen that date. Sharing a comparison includes both dates; a challenge includes the sender’s selected date so the recipient can add their own. The date appears in the link’s fragment, the part after the # sign. Browsers do not include this fragment in the HTTP request sent to the website.
Your browser’s share sheet sends the text, link, and, where supported, a result image to the app or person you choose. Where the share sheet is unavailable, the share button tries to copy the link to your clipboard. Any service you choose has its own data practices.
Copy link places the selected link on your clipboard. Saving a birthday card creates the image in your browser. It does not upload the card to a server.
Cookies and analytics
When enabled, PostHog measures page visits, website interactions, and errors. Analytics can collect page paths, referring pages, browser details, and connection information.
Before sending events, the site removes the parts after ? and # from page and referrer address fields. This includes automatic events, sharing events, and page addresses within performance measurements. Other interaction data can include selected dates. Error reports include messages and stack traces.
PostHog uses cookies and browser storage to recognize repeat visits. Its project settings control additional features, including session recording.
Birthday Odds has no advertising trackers or visitor accounts. Fonts are served with the site, so loading them does not contact a third-party font service.
Visitors’ selections are not added to the birth dataset.
Website requests and hosting
Opening a page sends a request to the site’s hosting provider. These requests can include your IP address, browser details, and the requested page. They do not include the birthday you select in the checker. The hosting provider may keep request logs to operate the site.
